You might have 99 problems, but having fun with your friends should not be one!
We know how adulthood works: busy schedule, lots of things on the to-do list, some of your friends already have kids, some of them don’t, but the thing is that seeing each other can become some kind of a sci-fi story. Well, it should not be that way, but if so, when you finally manage to get together, make sure you have a blast. No boredom allowed!
With this in our mind, we have gathered for you some great drinking ‘minute to win it’ games for adults! First, scan our article to see what you need for these fun activities, then, run to the store and buy your favorite types of liquor. Last but not least, call your friends and let them know it’s on!
1. Beer Pong Twist
We are telling you: this is one of the best ‘minute to win it’ games if you want to get adults drinking.
What do you need?
- Beer, depending on how many folks you gather.
- At least 12 plastic cups
- A table
- Ping-pong balls
How does it work?
- Pour beer into the plastic cups.
- Split the cups into 2, and place at least 6 on the opposite end of the table.
- Start throwing ping-pong balls into the cups. They should land straight into the cups, without rimming out.
- The player who sinks the most shots in 60 seconds, wins.
2. Boom Cup
This is one of the most popular drinking games – ‘minute to win it’ – for adults. You can play it indoors when you have your friends over, or as an outdoor team building activity when you are off with your work colleagues. Thank us later!
What do you need?
- A ping pong table. If you don’t have one, a large table will do the trick too.
- 15-20 (plastic) cups
- 2 rubber balls
- Beer. Again, this depends on how many players (and how thirsty) you are.
How does it work?
- Create a circle of cups in the center of the table. You should put at least as many cups as there are players. These are the drinking cups.
- Start pouring beer. The cups should be one-third full before you can move to the next step.
- In the center of the circle of cups, place one more cup and fill it completely with beer. This cup becomes the ‘kill cup’.
- Pull out 2 more cups and set them closer to the edge of the table.
- Lay the 2 balls down next to the cups near the edge.
- The game starts with everyone standing in a circle around the table.
- The 2 players who start playing get the 2 empty cups and the bouncy balls. In between them, there should be a 3rd player. On “Go!”, the 2 players try to bounce their ball into their empty cup. There are two possibilities:
- If they make it in on the first try, they can pass the ball and cup to anyone in the circle.
- If they make it in on a later try, they must pass the ball and cup to the right.
- If the person to your left manages to bounce his/her ball into the cup before you do, then the person to your left will yell ‘Boom’ and slap your cup to the ground. This is the moment when you have to drink one of the cups from the middle of the table. You keep on playing until all the cups are empty.
- When only the ‘kill cup’ is left, the last person to get their ball in the cup has to drink the whole thing.
3. Brown Bag
Ok. Assuming that you are long past the ‘getting to know each other’ games for adults, this is a great one for the nights off, when you are already comfortable with each other, and there’s also some booze involved.
What do you need?
- A paper bag. If you really want to stick to the name of this drinking ‘minute to win it’ game for adults, go for a brown one.
How does it work?
- Place the bag on the ground.
- In 1 minute, each player has to reach down and pick the bag up, using only their mouth.
- They are not allowed to touch the bag or the floor with their hands. Only their feet should be touching the ground, and their mouths, the bag.
- When a player fails, he/she must take a shot.
*Tip: Make things more difficult and funnier, by cutting off an inch from the top of the bag after every round.
4. Blindfolded Bowling
This could be turned into a great backyard game for adults! Just as its name suggests, it’s all about bowling… but there’s a twist!
What do you need?
- Pins. If you don’t have those at hand, you can replace them with some cups or bottles.
- Balls. Again, if you do not have a bowling set, go for some of your kids’ balls.
- A blindfold.
How does it work?
- The player has to put the blindfold on.
- In 60 seconds, he/she has to knock off as many pins (or their alternatives) as possible.
- Assign a player who hands the player the balls to be bowled.
- Assign a team who is in charge of picking up the objects and balls.
5. Penny Tower
This is one of the ‘minute to win it’ games for adults that gets them drinking, but also tests their dexterity.
What do you need?
- Pennies. Lots of them. So a good idea before suggesting this game to your friends would be to break open your piggy bank!
How does it work?
- Every player has to build a tower made of pennies, using only one hand. It might seem easy, but you will see: the taller the tower, the tougher it becomes to keep its balance. *Side note: Focus and balance are even harder to reach if you’ve had a couple of beers before this challenge. 🙂
- The player who builds the highest tower in one minute wins the game.
*Tip: If you take the alcohol out of the equation, this can become a great ‘minute to win it’ game for kids. Give it a try, and test their ingenuity and tact!

- They have to unwrap as many sweets as they can before the clock runs out.
- The winner gets to eat as many candies as he/she wants, while the loser has to empty his/her glass in one gulp.
*Tip: Make it more challenging, by asking them to unwrap the chocolates using only one hand!

How does it work?
